  • PhD Position - Implantable, Muscle-Driven Prosthetic Limbs - Biomedical Engineering, University of Tennessee, Knoxville

    Hello!

Our lab (http://assistlab.utk.edu/) at the University of Tennessee is seeking a highly motivated PhD student to start in the Fall 2021 semester. The student will work on an exciting interdisciplinary project to develop and evaluate implantable, muscle-driven prosthetic limbs.

The project will involve most or all of the following:
    • implant design and fabrication
    • in vivo biomechanics testing
    • computational modeling and simulation
    • muscle architecture measurements

    Qualifications:
The applicant should have at least a BS degree in Engineering, Biomechanics, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field. Experience with data analysis software (e.g. Matlab) and CAD a plus but not essential. We will train students who lack experience, so don’t let that deter you - just bring the fire!

    How to Apply:
Interested persons should email me a CV and a statement of purpose: dustin.crouch@utk.edu. Applications submitted by June 4 will be given full consideration.

    Thanks!
    Dustin L. Crouch, PhD
