We are looking for a Lab Manager / Research Engineer (f/m/d) for a permanent employment in part-time (50-75%) or full-time (100%) for the new Biomechanics Laboratory at the Faculty of Medicine as of 1st of August 2021. The Biomechanics Lab is part of the Institute of Interdisciplinary Exercise Science and Sports Medicine within the MSH Medical School Hamburg, Germany.

Your tasks:
- Technical management of the laboratory
- Assist with data collection for research studies
- Analyze, process, and summarize biomechanical data
- Write custom software scripts to analyze data
- Maintain lab hardware (Qualisys motion capture system, AMTI force plates, Zebris treadmill, IMUs, etc.).
- Teaching in B.Sc. Exercise Science, M.Sc. Exercise in Neurological Sciences, or State Examination Medicine
- Supervision and training of students and interns in undergraduate programs.
- Preparation, review, and submission of manuscripts and abstracts for publication or presentation
- Collaborate with our biostatisticians to organize data sets and perform statistical analyses
- Assist with administrative tasks related to data management, scheduling, and laboratory organization.
- Master's degree, diploma or state examination in biomechanics, engineering, sports/movement science, physiotherapy, medicine, physics, computer science, or related subjects. Respective Bachelor's degree + min. 2 years of work experience are also possible.
- Experience working in a motion analysis lab and experience working with biomechanical quantification of human motion
- Advanced programming skills in Matlab
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate across disciplines with research participants, team members, clinicians, and project collaborators
- Strong writing skills to prepare and edit reports and manuscripts.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Confident handling of LabVIEW, Python and R or SPSS
- Confident use of Qualisys Track Manager and Visual3D
- Experience working with clinical populations and (running) athletes
- Research and publication experience
