Texas Rangers Performance Center Internship


The Texas Rangers are seeking intern(s) to join our Performance Center team and gain knowledge and experience working in an elite baseball sport science environment. This internship is based in Surprise, AZ during the Fall of 2021. This is an unpaid internship. There is the possibility of housing accommodations in Rangers Village if needed for the duration of the internship.

As a Performance Center intern, you may be expected to:
  • Shadow, observe, and participate in performance testing for professional baseball players
  • Assist with the preparation and operation of a variety of sport science equipment
  • Assist with high frame rate video captures of hitters and pitchers.
  • Support sport science staff with responsibilities related to athlete evaluation, training, and performance
  • Perform other duties as assigned
The ideal intern would be:
  • Passionate for sport science and possess an eagerness to learn new skills
  • Interested in the field of sport science, proficient in anatomy, and has preliminary exposure to biomechanics and applied performance science
  • Trustworthy and expected to maintain the confidentiality of work materials and processes
  • Able to dedicate a minimum of 25 hours/week, predominantly in the morning and early afternoon, and able to work weekends upon request
  • Receiving college credit through undergraduate, or graduate classes specializing in sport science, kinesiology, exercise physiology, exercise science, etc
  • Used to working in team settings, detail oriented, and possess a strong work ethic
  • Proactive and action oriented
