Two Faculty Positions in computational biomedical image analysis are available at the Symbiosis Centre for Medical Image Analysis (SCMIA), Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune, India (https://scmia.edu.in/). The center is one of a kind in India and uniquely performs translational research in medical imaging through its access to the Engineering institute (Symbiosis Institute of Technology) and the Symbiosis University Hospital and Research Center. The center has research access to computational equipment, medical imaging scanners such as MRI, CT, and other relevant facilities.

SCMIA aspires to be a center of excellence in medical image analysis and is therefore searching for research faculties (National and International) having a proven research record in the combined domains of medical image analysis, deep learning, and machine learning. The successful candidate would require to have expertise in solving clinical problems through the domains of neuroimaging, MEG/EEG signal analysis, breast/cardiac/abdomen/spine imaging, etc. The responsibilities include writing and obtaining grant proposals, guiding Masters, Ph.D. students, and post-doctoral fellows, creating national and international collaborations, and publications in high-impact peer-reviewed journals. The position requires the candidate to work in a multidisciplinary environment involving engineers, radiologists, statisticians, surgeons, and clinicians.

Qualification: Ph.D. with First class or equivalent (in terms of Grades etc.) at the preceding degree and a good academic record throughout. Candidates should have a background in one of the following domains: Electronics and telecommunications, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, MR Physics, etc. with a specialty in medical imaging.

Experience: A minimum of ten years teaching/research/professional experience, excluding the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D. for Associate Positions. For Assistant Prof. Position, post-doc of at least two years after Ph.D. is preferred. The candidate should have demonstrated research capabilities in terms of publications in reputed journals and conferences. Eligible candidates with less than the requisite experience may also be considered if they have a proven publication record.
