    The Department of Kinesiology and Sport Management at Texas Tech University is pleased to announce the availability of a tenure-track position in kinesiology at the assistant professor level.

    Minimum Qualifications
    • An earned doctorate in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a closely related area.
    • A focused research agenda and expertise in one or more areas of kinesiology.
    • Demonstrated ability to publish in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Strong teaching experience at the university level.
    • Post-doctoral research experience in biomechanics, motor control, motor learning, neurophysiology, human performance, or muscle physiology.
    • Experience in course development, including creative online pedagogy.
    • Demonstrated ability to contribute to the doctoral program.
    • Demonstrated collegiality to participate in and support a collaborative, interdisciplinary work environment.
    • Experience and interest in working with diverse student populations and first-generation students is highly desirable.
    • Demonstrated ability to seek external research funding.

    • Conduct research and publish in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals.
    • Teach a combination of undergraduate and graduate kinesiology courses.
    • Obtain external funding.
    • Advise graduate students and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
    • Perform professional service and outreach to the university, community, and profession.

    Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experiences.

    Effective Date of Appointment: 9-month, tenure-track appointment will be effective September 1, 2022.

    Department: The Kinesiology and Sport Management Building offers 14 state-of-the-art research laboratories and includes six classrooms, a student computer lab, and faculty offices. The department is one of the largest at Texas Tech University and enrolls over 1,350 students in the Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and over 400 students in Bachelor of Science in Sport Management. Over 40 students are enrolled in the Master of Science in Kinesiology in concentrations in exercise physiology (clinical; human performance; integrative physiology) and in motor behavior/exercise and sport psychology and 40-50 graduate students in the Master of Science in Sport Management. The department offers a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology with its first graduates in 2022.
