Title of project: Spinal cord neuromodulation research position
The postdoctoral researcher will be involved in a clinical trial testing electrical spinal cord stimulation for treatment of spinal cord injury (https://www.estand.org) or spinal cord injury for treatment of pain (https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/...f&draw=2&rank=1). They will be involved in the data analysis of electromyogram and kinesiology data. They must have experience in signal processing, data analysis tools, programming, and statistical analysis. The research position will also involve experimental design, statistical analysis, writing up results for scientific papers, and grant writing. The University of Minnesota provides many career development training opportunities to accompany the research plan.
The postdoctoral position will be mentored by Theoden Netoff, in the Department of Biomedical Engineering (http://neuralnetoff.umn.edu) and David Darrow, in the department of Neurosurgery (https://www.hermandarrowlab.com/).
● Work in conjunction with a faculty mentor who determines the training agenda. (10%)
● Participate in the design, implementation, and evaluation of a research project. (60%)
● Prepare and present data to study investigators. (10%)
● Author, co-author, and otherwise collaborate on reports, conference papers, and journal articles. (20%)
About the Department
The Department of Biomedical Engineering is an academic unit of the College of Science and Engineering that administers biomedical engineering degree programs at all levels (bachelor's, master's, and doctoral).
While research possibilities among the graduate faculty span the full spectrum of biomedical engineering, the Department has established interests in cardiovascular, neural, and cancer engineering. We seek to focus growth and excellence in these research areas as we grow.
