The Biomechatronics and Intelligent Robotics Lab in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace (MAE) Engineering at North Carolina State University (haosu-robotics.github.io) is seeking postdoc fellows, engineers, and PhD students with Dynamics/Control or Learning or Mechatronics expertise for applications in surgical robots, humanoid robots, soft robots, and wearable robots. The lab is comprised of 4 postdocs and 8 PhD students. We won the Innovation Challenge of Wearable Robotics Association, Cisco Global Problem Solver Challenge, and Toyota Mobility Challenge Discovery Award.
The selected candidate will join a multidisciplinary research team to study high-performance surgical and humanoid robots in collaboration with CMU, Columbia University Medical Center, and several top medical schools in the United States. This is a great opportunity to pioneer research in a new generation of medical robot platforms to publish high-impact papers alongside several PIs who have expertise in mechatronics, computer vision, and machine learning.
Applications (assembled as a single PDF file) should contain a CV, a list of publications, and copies of up to four scientific papers. Applications should be emailed to hao.su796 at ncsu.edu
Postdoc qualification:
- PhD in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or related areas including
- Research experiences in one or more of the following areas: mechatronic design, power electronics, embedded system, control theory, machine learning.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
PhD students can be admitted in 2022 spring.
PhD students will receive tuition scholarship and stipend support. Students are required to have TOEFL (or IELTS or Duolingo), GRE is not required.
