The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Washington and the Center for Limb Loss and MoBility (CLiMB) at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System in Seattle, WA have an opening for a research/software engineer in the field of image processing and analysis. This position is available immediately and will remain open until a suitable candidate has been found. The successful candidate will be primarily involved in two projects: 1) further refinement and development of our in-house software for bone kinematic tracking from medical imaging and 2) the evaluation of bone morphology in subjects with arthritis of the great toe, including image analysis and algorithm development.

Responsibilities: 1) Implementing new algorithms for visualizing and processing 3D data and assisting with data analysis and reporting. 2) Developing/designing stand-alone tools to assist in image measurement in clinical research. 3) Assisting in further development/optimization of software tools built in C++/CUDA/C#/Matlab. 4) Working with users to understand design requirements and incorporate user feedback into design revisions.
