The Laboratory Manager of the Motion Capture Lab will manage and administer a complex shared laboratory facility which is utilized by multiple Primary Investigators (PIs) across multiple colleges at Northeastern University. As a support professional, the Laboratory Manager will be charged with maximizing the effective utilization of the lab, including scheduling use of specific areas, coordinating with PIs and their researchers on logistical considerations, and configuring the equipment used in the lab, which is a mixture of physical components and computer programs.
The Laboratory Manager will also lead other administrative duties related to operating the lab efficiently. This will include overseeing a shared consumables budget and associated ordering, setting up service contracts for equipment and ensuring all equipment is properly maintained, and working as the liaison to college and university space and safety staff.
Bachelor’s degree in biology, physical therapy, biomechanical engineering, sports medicine or related field required. MS, DPT, or PhD in sports/clinical biomechanics, physical therapy, kinesiology or related field strongly preferred. The successful candidate will also have some experience in programming including Matlab and or Python or C#/Unity. Experience with kinetic analysis, the use of force plates and/or similar systems preferred.
