    ** Please note - this position will be based out of the Rays Latin American Complex in the Dominican Republic. **

    This position will assist the Baseball Performance Science (BBPS), Latin American Academy, Player Development, and entire Baseball Operations staff in coordinating the Latin American Academy BBPS technology, administering BBPS testing sessions, collecting and maintaining data, and generating new initiatives for the department. This person will also be responsible for ensuring that the flow of information in and out of the department is timely, comprehensive, and accurate.

    Department: Baseball Performance Science

    Reporting Relationships: Director, Baseball Performance Science

    • Coordinate usage of available technological resources for player development and medical staff.
    • Operate existing and investigate new technological resources including, but not limited to, motion capture systems, force platforms, and wearable sensors.
    • Collaborate with other members of performance science, clinical staff, and player development staff to perform athlete assessments and provide feedback obtained from technological resources.
    • Leverage existing data from baseball technology to research and improve processes for player evaluation, development, and wellness.
    • Maintain and organize various forms of sports science data (roster updates, wellness, workload monitoring, etc.).
    • Strengthen daily lines of communication between Baseball Performance Science and Player Development in our Latin American Academy.
    • Assist in the streamlining efforts of testing, protocols, and initiatives between the US-based affiliates and the Latin American complex.
    • Contribute to all BBPS initiatives, data exploration, and hypothesis-driven analyses.
    • A foundation in a performance science-related field including, including an aptitude to learn biomechanics, exercise physiology, and/or neuromuscular control.
    • Demonstrated experience in various software platforms including SQL, Office Suite, and Athlete Management Systems.
    • Proven background in conducting baseball performance science-related research.
    • Capacity to communicate complex and technical information to a varied audience.
    • Ability to clearly communicate in Spanish is required.
    Location: Dominican Republic with travel as needed
