We are recruiting for a funded PhD student to study equestrian rider biomechanics during showjumping. Ideal candidate would have a good general background working with motion capture/IMUs. Showjumping experience not necessary for a candidate with a good background in biomechanics.Funding includes tuition (UK home tuition fees) and £14,000 stipend. Additional funding available for consumables and conference attendance. The candidate will be expected to contribute 7 hours per week to teaching delivery or research support (external to PhD project).

Essential qualifications:
- 2:1 Bachelor’s Degree or Masters qualification in a relevant field
- GCSE English at grade C or above or IELTS score 7.0 or TOEFL score 600 (or demonstrable equivalent) where English is not your first language
- Experience with motion capture and/or IMUs
- Experience with MATLAB or Python
