    Reporting to the Director of Biomechanics Research and Performance Fit Lab and based in our Denver office, you will be responsible for delivering proven performance insights that lead to technologically innovative solutions. The Performance will lead our performance and validation testing and contribute to all other biomechanical testing conducted in the Performance Fit Lab. Fit Lab operates within the Product Development department and helps in delivering best in class product, specifically in efficacy of our benefits: Agility & Speed, Endurance & Health, and Power & Precision. You will execute projects that require collaboration with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and be part of a keystone team that enables BOA to achieve its strategic initiative of delivering measurable performance fit improvements. You will bring a curiosity and rigor to your work that assists us in developing, executing, and growing the PFL.

    • Support the growth of the Performance Fit Lab, building the ability to quantify the effects of BOA solutions on footwear and human performance
    • Conduct Performance Fit Lab testing using industry-standard hardware (MoCap, IMU, force), advanced analysis techniques, qualitative research methodologies, and newly developed/cutting-edge protocols to streamline data acquisition, analyze findings, and interpret human performance data in a sound scientific manner
    • Lead end-to-end biomechanical tests, including management of the lab calendar and preparation of test subjects for data collection in a variety of tests and applications (both in the lab and field) to publication
    • Create reports, visualize data, present findings, and integrate insights in a clear and concise manner for a variety of technical and non-technical audiences
    • Mentor and train new lab members in equipment use, result visualization, and test protocols
    • Ensure that all projects meet the needs of the requestors and are completed on time
    • Identify opportunities to advance the performance effects of BOA’s solutions
    • Assist in the authoring of external Lab communications including white papers, articles, press releases, etc.
    • Regularly role model the Core Operating Principles to your team and others

    • Ph.D. or Master's degree with 2+ years experience in biomechanics, kinesiology, mechanical engineering or biomedical engineering
    • 2+ years of experience in a biomechanics lab with human subjects experience
    • Experience collecting and processing motion data using force plates, cameras, and IMUs
    • Comfort analyzing data using one (or more) of the following: R/Python/C++
    • Advanced understanding of statistical inference
    • Ability to troubleshoot equipment difficulties
    • Comfort and ability in presenting to diverse audiences, including those who do not have a biomechanics background
    • A desire to use your focus on quality and organization to continue evolving our lab operations

    • An understanding of resampling methods (such as Bootstrapping, Jackknife, etc.) as well as standard Frequentist and Bayesian inference
    • Knowledge of collaborative code practices such as git
    • Previous experience recruiting research test subjects
    • General knowledge of footwear design and application with respect to athletics

    • Budgeted salary range: $70,000 - $80,000
      • We will determine salary based on skills and experience in relation to the function of the role, as well as equity to any other employees with similar experience in the same or similar role
      • This role is also eligible for a 10% annual bonus
