Job Summary
The Department of Kinesiology at Louisiana Tech University seeks applications for a 9-month, tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Kinesiology to begin September 1, 2022. The successful candidate should have a research interest(s) in exercise physiology, biomechanics, or sports performance that complements the research interests of other graduate faculty within the Department of Kinesiology as well as our Sports Performance master’s concentration, and enhances the department’s profile.
Salary
Commensurate with education and experience. A higher starting salary may be awarded based on professional merit (e.g., postdoctoral work or relevant professional experience).

Faculty Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses in the area of expertise and graduate courses in the Sport Performance master’s concentration congruent with expertise.
- Maintain a productive research agenda while pursuing internal and external funding.
- Ability to integrate this research line within our newly proposed Sports Performance Institute or Tactical Institute.
- Supervise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
- Curriculum development.
- Collaborate with Kinesiology faculty as well as other departments on campus.
- Provide department, college, university, and professional service.
Minimum Qualifications
- Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Kinesiology (Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, or Sport Performance), or a closely related field (ABD will be considered).
- Display ability to develop a focused line of research in sports performance.
- Display capability to engage in and publish peer-reviewed research and to present at professional meetings.
- Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of professional developments related to area of expertise.
- Have experience with relevant laboratory equipment and kinesiology testing.
- Have experience in working with students, athletes, and colleagues from multi-cultural backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience and contributions in the applied, clinical, and/or research aspects of exercise physiology or biomechanics as it relates to sports performance, especially with baseball/softball or tactical athletes.
- Provide evidence of effective teaching in higher education.
- Record of involvement in internal and external funded grants.
- Record of professional service.
- Certification(s) with NSCA or ACSM, and others appropriate for specialization.
