PhD Graduate Assistantship in Applied Biomechanics at The University of Memphis
The Exercise, Sport and Movement Sciences (ESMS) unit within the College of Health Sciences (CHS) at The University of Memphis has a doctoral-level graduate assistantship in the concentration of Applied Biomechanics with Dr. Max Paquette beginning Fall 2022. The assistantship may include a combination of research within the Musculoskeletal Analysis Laboratory and instruction of undergraduate courses (e.g., Anatomic Kinesiology, Biomechanics Lab, etc...). The assistantship is a 12-month appointment and includes a monthly stipend and full tuition waivers for the three-year program period.
Assistantship Details: The focus of the research will be on running biomechanics, injuries, footwear, and performance. Prior research experience in the field of biomechanics including experience with biomechanics/physiology research instruments, data collections, and data analyses are desired. Good communication skills, teamwork, and being able to work independently are also desired.

The CHS provides you with a quality education focused on the fundamental principles of health, exercise, nutrition and physical activity while equipping you with the cutting-edge knowledge and skills needed to fulfill leadership roles in your chosen area of specialty. From introductory courses in health and wellness, to specialized courses in nutrition therapy, biomechanics, health sciences, healthcare leadership, exercise physiology, physical education teacher education and program planning, you're taught to analyze and synthesize data, and to develop alternative approaches to problem solving. Six undergraduate and seven graduate degree programs are currently offered within our college.
