Two Assistant/Associate Professor positions in Mechanical Engineering
Cleveland State University
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Cleveland State University has two (2) openings for tenure-track faculty members to start in August 2022. Depending on experience and qualifications, successful applicants may be appointed as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor.
The first faculty position is open to applicants with research specialization in Smart and Sustainable Manufacturing (SSM), Renewable Energy (RE), or Human-Machine Systems (HMS).
The second faculty position is open to applicants with research specialization in Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning (AIML), applied to manufacturing, energy systems, or biomedicine.
Tenure-track candidates are expected to continue or develop an externally funded research program and teach courses to meet the needs of the undergraduate and graduate curriculum.
Successful candidates will possess excellent communication skills, a potential for industry collaboration and an ability to contribute through teaching and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community.
All candidates must hold both an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, and an earned doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely- related discipline with degree conferred on or before July 1, 2022. Successful candidates will demonstrate potential for teaching excellence and the highest standards of scholarship and professional activity in their research areas.
