    Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute (CKRI)/Allina Health is recruiting a Rehabilitation Research Scientist/Senior Scientific Advisor to develop new lines of inquiry within the context of a clinical setting. The successful candidate should have a research doctorate (e.g., PhD, ScD) and expertise in areas related to rehabilitation sciences including but not limited to motor control, movement science, rehabilitation science, kinesiology, and biomedical engineering. Applicants should have a demonstrated ability to develop and lead a program of clinical rehabilitation research (for example-physical therapy, occupational therapy) and have a history of peer-reviewed publications and successful grant writing at the private or federal level.
    Primary duties include:
    • Collaborate with the Courage Kenny Research team and CKRI clinicians to develop, secure funding for, and conduct clinically-relevant research
    • Provide education and guidance towards the translation of new findings into everyday rehabilitation practice.
    • Contribute to Courage Kenny Research’s strategic planning and growth,
    • Mentor and provide periodic education to CKRI clinicians who are interested in research.
    Opportunities to collaborate with faculty members at various local academic institutions are anticipated. Applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule will be considered.
    CKRI is the rehabilitation service line of the Allina Health System, a large Minnesota nonprofit corporation that delivers health care services to patients in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. CKRI offers a unique environment for successful research development given our robust patient populations and strong clinical presence across the rehabilitation continuum of care. CKRI clinicians and providers serve over 100,000 clients per year, providing rehabilitation care and community rehabilitation services in acute medical settings, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, and community-based services, including extensive sports and fitness offerings for people with disabilities. Courage Kenny Research is the research arm of CKRI and one of 13 research houses across Allina Health. At present, the Courage Kenny Research team conducts studies with federal, state, and foundation funding related to acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, and Covid-19 and cancer survivorship. https://www.allinahealth.org/ckresearch
