Relying on engineering means and interdisciplinary collaborations, NCB-Lab’s team aims to positively impact prevention and rehabilitation by gaining a better understanding of the neuromusculoskeletal mechanisms of human movement, outcome measures for movement and performance assessment, and designing and evaluating advanced assistive technologies with the goal of enhancing the quality of life of those affected by movement impairments.
    2. Telerobotic & Biorobotic Systems Group (www.ece.ualberta.ca/~tbs/pmwiki/index.php?n=Main.HomePage): The Telerobotic and Biorobotic Systems Group is directed by Dr. Mahdi Tavakoli in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the University of Alberta. This group specializes in developing robots and robotic systems for various medical/biomedical applications, including surgery, therapy, rehabilitation, telehealth, and telemedicine. This group has three laboratories: i) CREATE Lab focusing on Collaborative, REhabilitation, and AssisTivE Robotics research, ii) HANDS Lab focusing on Haptics AND Surgery research, and iii) SIMULAT-OR Lab as a SIMULATed Operating Room featuring a da Vinci Surgical System.
    The Position:
Qualified applicants are invited to apply for MSc student, PhD student and Postdoctoral fellowship positions to pursue new and creative research ideas in the development, evaluation and implementation of wearable exoskeletons for reducing the risk of work-related musculoskeletal disorders. Successful candidates will have strong collaboration and coordination skills to work directly with both research teams at multiple levels, industry partners, rehabilitation centres, athletic teams and other research teams across the country to contribute to this research project successfully.

    Qualifications:
