    Summary
    This is a fantastic opportunity for a 1-year fixed term Research Assistant/ Associate position at the Translational and Clinical Research Institute of Newcastle University (UK).

    This is an exciting opportunity for an early career scientist who is interested in physical activity/ human movement, wearable technology and digital outcomes in rheumatoid arthritis and neurodegenerative diseases (e.g. Parkinson’s disease).

    The work will be undertaken within the Brain and Movement Research Group with Dr Silvia Del Din and in collaboration with Dr Kenneth Baker.
    You will work in an interdisciplinary group who has an established international reputation in movement analysis and wearable technology analytics.

    You will work as part of a research team supporting a NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) funded project. The project will apply wearable technology in a real-world setting to study mobility, physical activity and physiological signals in people with rheumatoid arthritis; it will also involve working with wearable technology data collected in people with neurodegenerative diseases (e.g. Parkinson’s disease).

    Information, eligibility criteria and requirements:
    The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biomedical Science, Movement Science or related field (a PhD is essential for the Research Associate position); experience working with wearable sensor data and digital outcomes; proficient and independent signal processing, statistical and computational skills; and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
