    Lecturer in Kinesiology DEPARTMENT OF KINESIOLOGY

    Whittier College invites applications for a Lecturer in the Department of Kinesiology beginning August 2022. The faculty member will teach undergraduate courses in Biomechanics, research methods and statistics, and other courses in the department and courses that meet the interdisciplinary component of the curriculum. Another potential course of instruction is sociology of sport. In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to supervise senior seminar projects and help with advising students. The minimum qualifications for the position include: Ph.D. in Kinesiology, Biomechanics, or a closely-related field (ABD considered); a strong background in biomechanics; successful teaching experience; and effective communication skills.

    Whittier College is an independent, four-year Liberal Arts College distinguished by its small size and its nationally recognized liberal arts program. As a liberal arts college, Whittier is also distinctive by having a strong Department of Kinesiology (KNS) that is well respected within the College and has the second largest number of majors on campus. The KNS major has been designed to fit within the context of the liberal arts program and allows for creativity in course content and design.
