Brief Statement of Duties | |
Brief Statement of Duties: | TWO Positions Available - These positions will teach undergraduate and graduate courses (MS level) in one or more exercise science areas, advise undergraduate students in the Sports Science program and graduate students in Exercise Science (MS level), work with other faculty in maintenance and supervision of the Exercise Science Laboratory, and participate on Departmental and/or University committees. This is a campus-based position. |
Minimum Qualifications | |
Required Education: | MS required Doctorate preferred |
Discipline / Degree Area: | (a)Exercise Physiology; and/or (b) Biomechanics, exercise science, motor control, strength and conditioning, or other related fields. |
Required Specialized Training/Certifications: | Two Positions (a) One position is specific to exercise physiology; (b) One position is specific to biomechanics, motor control, strength and conditioning, or related field. |
Required Minimum Work Experience: | Evidence of university-level teaching in the discipline area. (a. exercise physiology; b. biomechanics, motor control or related field) |
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties: | Conveying oral and written information in understandable ways and communicating effectively verbally and in writing. Working effectively with others in productive ways. Expertise in exercise physiology and/or biomechanical and motor learning applications. University teaching experience. |
Additional Desirable Qualifications | |
Additional Desirable Qualifications: | Some expertise/experience in the application of equipment related to exercise physiology and/or biomechanical/motor learning courses. Experience teaching university courses at the graduate level and serving on department/university committees. Ability to mentor students through the research process. Certifications, such as National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) (e.g., CSCS), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) (e.g., EP-C or CEP), or equivalent certification in a related field. |
