We are currently looking for a student to fill an open MS assistantship starting in Fall 2022 in the WVU Department of Human Performance and Applied Exercise Science, which is housed within the School of Medicine. The student is expected to be enrolled in the Thesis Track of the MS in Exercise Physiology at WVU and their research interests must be in biomechanics. The assistantship is 20 hours a week, divided between working in the Mountaineer Sports Medicine Research Laboratory (i.e. our motion capture lab) and working as a teaching assistant for our undergraduate Kinesiology/Biomechanics class. The student will work on research projects examining biomechanical factors related to lower extremity injuries as well as various other projects in the laboratory.
The student must have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.2 and have earned an A or B in their undergraduate biomechanics/kinesiology class. While the deadline for applications has technically passed, we are still reviewing candidates for this position. Interested students should contact Dr. Jean McCrory at jlmccrory@hsc.wvu.edu or (304) 293-0442 or Dr. Kate Jochimsen at kate.jochimsen@hsc.wvu.edu or (304) 293-9157.
