PhD Position available at Université of Lorraine (Metz, France): Development of a device to assess the burn depth using electromechanical properties of human skin

keywords: Burnt skin, electromechanical measurements, constitutive laws of soft biological tissues, design of experimental devices, Biomechanics, Computer Assisted Design, Machining.

We are looking for a high level student for this PhD project in between DCAC (Défaillance cardiovasculaire aiguë et chronique) and LEM3 (Laboratory of Microstructure study and Mechanics of Materials) laboratories. This project will be led in collaboration with the hospital (CHR Metz Thionville). The PhD student will work in Metz (France) at the LEM3 within the axis Biomechanics and Bioengineering of the Musculoskeletal System.

Profile: Master degree or equivalent in Biomechanics, Mechanics or Physics.
Skills:
• Design of experimental devices (mechanical and electronic aspects, sensor development, programming)
• Mechanical testing on non linear materials
• Finite element simulations
• Strong interest in biomechanics
• Capacity to work in a clinical environment (measurements on patients)

Applications will close on June 12th.

If you are interested the contacts are: Pr Marie-Reine Losser (marie-reine.losser@univ-lorraine.fr) and Dr Adrien Baldit (adrien.baldit@univ-lorraine.fr) with CV, recommendation letter and cover letter.
