Postdoctoral Position in Musculoskeletal Imaging and Biomechanics
University of Colorado, Boulder, CO, USA

A postdoctoral position in musculoskeletal MRI with an emphasis on elastography and relaxometry is available in the Soft Tissue Bioengineering Laboratory at the University of Colorado Boulder.

The research-focused position will involve the MRI-based measurement of in vivo strain, material properties, and relaxometry in musculoskeletal soft tissues – cartilage, meniscus, and ligament – to predict the progression of osteoarthritis. A key effort of the position will involve the development and clinical translation of new imaging methods to study cartilage health following reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament.

A candidate with a background in biomechanics is preferred. The candidate will be expected to develop a strong understanding of experimental applications of magnetic resonance physics in the context of tissue structure and function, and work with a highly interdisciplinary team of basic scientists and clinicians. The position is funded by grants from the National Institutes of Health.

The CU Boulder MRI Facility is equipped with a whole-body, research-dedicated, and state-of-the-art 3T (Siemens Prismafit) scanner for imaging of the brain, spine, and knee.

CU Boulder is located along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, conveniently near Denver. Boulder is consistently ranked as one of the best cities in the USA in terms of quality of life. CU Boulder is an equal opportunity employer, and candidates of underrepresented populations are encouraged to apply.

Inquiries for this position should include a CV, brief statement of research interests and background, and the contact information for 2-3 references, and should be emailed as an attachment to:
