  • Research Biomechanist in Sports and Lower Extremity Injuries at the University of Kentucky

    We are looking for an individual with a masters or PhD degree in biomechanics, biomedical engineering, or related field to work on a exciting funded projects in the departments of Orthopaedic Surgery and Physical Therapy at the University of Kentucky. Our work centers around uncovering mechanisms for protracted impairments in muscle and function following orthopaedic injuries and developing novel therapeutic interventions. We use a variety of techniques ranging from magnetic resonance imaging to 3D biomechanics.

    The person in this position must have a research interest in lower extremity biomechanics as well as strong experience with data processing, and software such as visual 3D, Matlab, etc. They will help lead development of new data analysis techniques, assist with efforts on data interpretation and manuscript preparation on a multi year prospective studies. We are seeking a person with prior experience on the analysis of biomechanics data (motion capture, force plates, EMG) and or analysis of MRI images. The person in this position will join a team of experienced orthopaedic surgeons, physical therapists, biomechanists, biomedical engineers, and clinical trialists.
