Two research assistant positions are available beginning September 2023 for students enrolled in the PhD program in the Department of Health and Human Performance at the University of Houston. These conditions include NGLY1 deficiency, Rett Syndrome, Syngap1 deficiency, Phelen-McDermid deficiency, Rett Duplication Syndrome, and CDKL5 deficiency.
Successful applicants must be eligible for acceptance into the PhD program and have a working knowledge of biomechanics. Desired attributes include experience with motion analysis and familiarity with Matlab.

In addition to working with Dr. Charles Layne, the assistantships will provide opportunities to work with medical doctors from Texas Children’s Hospital, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, and Baylor College of Medicine, in Houston, Texas.
