The College of Human Sciences and Education at Louisiana State University (LSU) invites applications and nominations for the position of Director, School of Kinesiology. LSU is a land-grant, sea-grant, and space-grant institution, and a Carnegie Foundation designated Doctoral/Very High Research Activity university. With an enrollment over 34,000 students, LSU serves as the Flagship University of the State of Louisiana and is committed to excellence in research, teaching, and service.
The School of Kinesiology is one of the largest and highest performing academic units at LSU. There are approximately 2500 undergraduate students and 150 graduate students in the School of Kinesiology (combined on-campus and online). Within, a research/teaching staff of about 30 manages the School of Kinesiology’s undergraduate (i.e., B.S.) and graduate degrees (M.S. and Ph.D.). The broad areas of study include: Exercise Physiology, Motor Behavior, Pedagogy and Psychological Sciences, Athletic Training, and Sport Administration/Management.

Multiple undergraduate degree concentrations for the B.S. in Kinesiology include: Pre-Athletic Training, Fitness Studies, Human Movement Science, Physical Activity and Health, and Health and Physical Education Teacher Certification. In the B.S. Sport Administration degree option, there are concentrations available in Sport Leadership and Sport Commerce. With respect to minors, undergraduate opportunities are also offered for Coach Education, Health Sciences, and Sport Studies.
Graduate degrees offered by the School of Kinesiology include: MS Kinesiology, MS Athletic Training, MS Sport Management, PhD Kinesiology, and PhD Kinesiology: Concentration- Sport Management.
Lastly, it is important to note that accreditation is important within the School. For example, some programs also received additional accreditation through bodies such as the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) and Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA).

Required Qualifications: PhD in related discipline of kinesiology (broadly interpreted) and eligibility for membership on the graduate faculty as a full professor; vision for kinesiology; strong record of scholarly research and grant activity, including publications in refereed journals; demonstrated teaching experience and competence at the university level; administrative experience at the university level, including supervision and support of graduate programs and knowledge of academic self-study and accreditation process(es).
