The Human Systems Lab at the University of Windsor is looking for highly motivated candidates for MS/ PhD in Human Factors applied to Autonomous Driving or Ergonomics of Manufacturing with a start date of Summer/Fall 2023 . The multidisciplinary research team led by Dr. Francesco N. Biondi has active projects in the fields of Transportation and Manufacturing Human Factors, Cognitive Ergonomics, Cognitive Load Estimation and Fatigue Detection. The projects are funded via collaborations with both public and private partners.

Qualification requirements
  • Degree in Psychology, Industrial Engineering, Cognitive Science, Kinesiology or related fields with a minimum 80% GPA in the last 2 years
  • Excellent English skills (written and oral)
  • Past experience conducting experimental and Human Factors studies.(preferred)
  • Past experience in signal processing and machine learning. (preferred)
  • Knowledge of R, Matlab, and Python (preferred)

Main duties and responsibilities
  • Data collection using physiological measures and driving simulator
  • Data processing using software such as R, Matlab, and Python.
  • Signal processing, data modeling, and machine learning
  • Dissemination of research findings at conferences and via publications

  • Total funding available up to $71,717 (for PhD) and $25,000 (for MS) for the duration of the program which is inclusive of:
    * Graduate assistant scholarships (~$5,000/each)
    * Competitive entrance scholarship of $7,500 for the first year (80% GPA required)
