The Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Charles V. Schaefer, Jr. School of Engineering and Science at Stevens Institute of Technology (Stevens; https://www.stevens.edu/) invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of associate professor or professor.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering or a related discipline. Applicants should have postdoctoral experience with evidence of obtaining competitive funding. Stevens is a private, student-centric research university in Hoboken, NJ. Stevens' location offers opportunities for collaboration with nearby universities, medical centers and corporate research laboratories. Stevens has a major initiative in healthcare and biomedical engineering is central to the initiative. The Schaefer School of Engineering and Science is the largest of four schools at Stevens and has support facilities that include electron, confocal and atomic force microscopy, mass spectrometry, NMR, other analytical instrumentation, a high-performance computing cluster and an animal vivarium. The Department of Biomedical Engineering has an ABET-accredited undergraduate program and masters and doctoral level graduate programs, with over 300 students in total.

Stevens values diversity and seeks candidates who will contribute to a welcoming and inclusive environment for students, faculty and staff of all backgrounds. We are an NSF ADVANCE institution committed to equitable practices and policies and strongly encourage applications from women, racial and ethnic minority candidates, veterans and individuals with disabilities.

Stevens Institute of Technology is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Accordingly, Stevens adheres to an employment policy that prohibits discriminatory practices or harassment against candidates or employees based on legally impermissible factor(s) including, but not necessarily limited to, race, color, religion, creed, sex, national origin, nationality, citizenship status, age, ancestry, marital or domestic partnership or civil union status, familial status, affectional or sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, atypical cellular or blood trait, genetic information, pregnancy or pregnancy-related medical conditions, disability or any protected military or veteran status. Stevens is a federal contractor under the Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as well as other federal statutes.

The search committee will begin to review applications immediately and applications will continue to be accepted until the position is filled. All applications received by November 30, 2022 will receive full consideration. To apply, please submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, research statement (3-4 pages), teaching statement (1-2 pages), diversity statement and contact information for at least three references as a single PDF file.
