    PhD Student Opening – Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Utah

    A fully funded PhD position is available in the College of Health at the University of Utah. The student will enroll in the Rehabilitation Sciences PhD program and will conduct research in the area of clinical orthopedic biomechanics under the supervision of Dr. Stephan Bodkin. The PhD student will join a research team in collaboration with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery to assess return to sport outcomes in patients following common orthopedic injuries.

    Graduate students within the Rehabilitation Sciences PhD program benefit from a strong collaborative atmosphere, a diverse and independently structured course load, and research experience within state-of-the-art laboratories. Resources on campus such as the Utah CTSI, the Center For Teaching Excellence, and The Graduate School assures that the student receives the desired graduate experience to match their post-graduation ambitions.

    Why Utah?

    Required Qualifications:
    • Completion of a graduate degree in Kinesiology/Biomechanics/Athletic Training/Physical Therapy
    • Graduate school GPA of 3.0 or higher
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in English

    Desired Qualifications
    • Board certified Athletic Trainer or Physical Therapist
    • Completion of a graduate thesis or capstone research project
    • Experience with human subject research
