The Department of Exercise Science and Physical Education at Montclair State University is seeking applicants for graduate assistant (GA) position(s) available for students beginning a master’s program within the department in the spring 2023 semester. Graduate students who become GA’s work for the department to support research and department initiatives. In return for this service, GA’s receive a tuition waiver, stipend, and a one-on-one mentorship experience with one or more faculty members within the department. Those interested should explore and apply for one of the master’s degree options within the department. You must also complete a separate application for a GA position. Qualifications:
Candidates should ideally have relevant undergraduate experience in classes related to motor learning and/or biomechanics. Any experience with motion tracking, eye tracking, virtual reality, EEG, force plate/balance metrics, and/or computer programming (Python, C#, MATLAB/Octave) is desirable. Research objectives will be tailored to match the applicant’s skills and support their future career goals. Applicants interested in pursuing faculty positions or clinical/entrepreneurial/industry careers at the conclusion of their MS period are equally welcome.
About the Visual Motor Behavior Lab:
The Visual Motor Behavior Lab at Montclair State University is focused on investigating processes of cognition and visual control of action in controlled laboratory settings as well as applied settings, such as law enforcement and sports performance. The lab is equipped with tethered and untethered eye tracking, simulations and eye tracking in virtual reality environments, high-speed motion analysis, and neuroimaging through EEG.
