  • Postdoctoral Research Associate at Texas Tech University

We are looking for an engineering postdoctoral research associate to join our Human Performance and Neuroengineering Lab at Texas Tech University in the Department of Industrial, Manufacturing, and Systems Engineering. This postdoctoral associate will be involved primarily in a project aimed at performing both implicit and explicit simulations in finite element modeling, validating head-neck musculoskeletal biomechanical models, and possibly in a few other exploratory projects on the exoskeleton, ballistic helmet design, and musculoskeletal health. Experience with finite element modeling (impact and thermal analyses) and biomechanical modeling are given the topmost priority, but an applicant should also be comfortable with experimental testing with human subjects. We expect this person to be self-motivated, have a strong work ethic, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. He or she must be immediately eligible to work. We provide great opportunities and a very collegial, nurturing environment to work collaboratively with faculty and students intramurally as well as extramurally. Individuals who aspire to pursue a career in academia are particularly encouraged to apply. Candidates who can join by January 2022 would be given the top priority. The yearly salary is $54000. [I will provide the official application link soon after the interview].

The applicant should have a Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering, industrial & systems engineering, bio/biomedical engineering, or a related discipline. The position is for a minimum of one year, with renewal dependent on performance and continued availability of funding. Salary is commensurate with credentials.

Interested individuals, please send CV (including contact information for 3 references) and sample publications to Dr. Suman K. Chowdhury, either via e-mail (suman.chowdhury@ttu.edu), or regular mail to the following address: Dr. Suman Chowdhury, 903 Canton Avenue, Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas 79409.
