PhD student position in biomechanics or mechanobiology in the University of Eastern Finland

We are seeking for a highly motivated and talented Doctoral Researcher to work full-time on one or several of the following tasks:

• Experimental characterization of articular cartilage injury and post-traumatic osteoarthritis progression by bioreactor experiments.
• Experimental characterization of human cartilage, meniscus, ligaments and tendons.
• Development of musculoskeletal finite element models of knee joints.
• Development of mechanobiological models of cartilage by considering both biomechanically and biochemically driven mechanisms in the disease progression.
• Merging body, joint, tissue and cell levels to a multiscale computational modelling framework.
