Applicants are sought for a funded position in the Interdisciplinary Health Sciences PhD program at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, co-mentored by Dr. Jenny Kent, PhD, CSci and Dr. Janet Dufek, PhD, FACSM, in collaboration with researchers in the College of Engineering. The student will pursue work exploring locomotor variability beyond the laboratory, with components including engineering design, biomechanical analysis, and activity monitoring. The position will commence Fall 2023.
Highly motivated students with an interest in human movement science, and an MS in biomedical or mechanical engineering, neuroscience, biomechanics, or related fields, are encouraged to apply. Prior experience in human movement analysis, instrumentation, and/or wearables, and programming skills are desirable.

UNLV is an R1 (Carnegie research very high) university, and a minority serving institution located in the center of the Las Vegas Valley. Outside of the food and entertainment reputation of the city, lesser known about Las Vegas is the large amount of epic hiking/trail running/climbing/cycling/camping areas on its doorstep, which also makes it a great place to live for anybody who enjoys the outdoors.
