  • Application Now Open for the 2023 NIH Summer Training Program

    We are now accepting applications for the 2023 NIH summer program titled ‘Neuromotor Skill Advancement for Post baccalaureates (NSAP)’ at the University of Houston. The NSAP program is funded by the National Institutes of Health Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NIH/NICHD) R25HD106896.

    ABOUT NSAP
    NSAP or Neuromotor Skill Advancement for Post-baccalaureates is a 10-week summer program at the University of Houston IUCRC BRAIN Center to provide didactic and hands-on activities focusing on the development of highly specialized technical skills to study the brain with the intention to complement and enhance the training of therapists, clinical and research fellows, and orthotists and prosthetists from a diverse community for neurorehabilitation and neuroengineering research. Each trainee in the science, bioengineering, neuroscience, or medical fields at the post baccalaureate level (with a bachelor’s degree) will participate in 8 workshops, responsible conduct of training, and attend research seminars, and immersive collaborative and personalized research experiences.

    IMPORTANT DATES
    Application deadline (including letters of reference): March 1, 2023
    Decision: March 21, 2023
    Deadline to accept: April 1, 2023
    Program dates (in-person): May 29, 2023 to August 4, 2023.

    NOTE: Individuals who are on track to graduate in May 2023 may apply. They must obtain a bachelor's degree prior to starting the program.
