Summary
Join the NuVasive Research and Testing Team as a Research & Testing Intern - Computational Modeling (HFSS). This opportunity will help you grow in your career, improve computational modeling skills, and help you learn the implementation of computational models for product development projects and regulatory submissions.
Perform, develop and troubleshoot Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of implantable medical devices and instruments.
Assist with verification and validation of computational models following ASME VV40/FDA Guidance.
Assist with computational modeling research studies (Non-Linear FEA modeling, data analysis/statistics, manuscript writing) as opportunities arise.
Basic Qualifications
MS/PhD level degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM area.
Demonstrated knowledge of Ansys HFSS software.
Strong foundational understanding of computational modeling, thermal science, and CAD modeling.
A good understanding of electromagnetic fields and high frequency (RF) principles.
Must be able to independently solve technical challenges associated with computational models.
Candidates are responsible for their own housing and transportation during the internship. Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior RF Induced Implant Heating modeling or medical device/regulated industry experience is a plus but not required.
