    Postdoctoral Position Available at the MEALab in the Department of Applied Physiology and Kinesiology at the University of Florida

    The MEALab (Movement Estimation and Assessment Laboratory) at the University of Florida is seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate to fill a postdoctoral position focused on developing and validating quantitative biomarkers of motor performance for video-based detection of Parkinson's disease and evaluation of disease progression.

    The successful candidate will work with a team of researchers and clinicians to develop and validate machine learning models for video analysis of Parkinson's disease patients' movements. The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for developing and implementing algorithms to analyze and quantify motor performance from video data. In addition, the candidate will be involved in developing web and mobile applications to collect patient data and validate the developed algorithms in clinical settings.

    - Ph.D. in Kinesiology, Biomedical Engineering, Neurosciences, Computer Science, or a related field.
    - Knowledge and experience using and training machine learning models for image and video analysis.
    - Knowledge of video-based motion tracking.
    - Strong programming skills in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
    - Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
    - Strong publication record

    Optional Requirements:
    - Experience recording data from subjects with neurological diseases, including Parkinson's disease.
    - Experience with JavaScript, React, react/native, or Swift is highly desired.

    This is a full-time position for two years, renewable for a third year upon satisfactory performance. The University of Florida offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
