Drexel University is recruiting highly motivated individuals who want to pursue a master’s and/or PhD in Health and Rehabilitation Science within the departments of Health Science and Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science. Teaching and research labs are located in the brand-new Health Science Building which opened in the Fall of 2022 on Drexel University’s main University City Campus in Philadelphia. The building includes state-of-the-art class rooms, anatomy lab, and research facilities including over 6000 sq ft of research space including three motion analysis laboratories, neuromodulation suite, and musculoskeletal imaging suite.
The master’s program is ideal for those with professional or clinical interests wanting advanced training in health sciences and rehabilitation as well as those seeking a career in research. Within the master’s program individuals will develop advanced knowledge along with critical thinking and solution-focused problem-solving skills to excel in health care and rehabilitation sciences. A unique feature of our program is students will be matched with a faculty expert in their area of interest to complete either a final project or thesis.
For those seeking a PhD and advanced research skills, we have multiple openings covering a broad area of disciplines within health and rehabilitation sciences. These include mechanistic pre-clinical work, implementation science, and quantitative research. Specific faculty with research openings include muscle physiology, computational musculoskeletal modeling, spinal cord injury and repair, rehabilitation neuroplasticity, aging with pain, physical activity and mobility, behavioral interventions, and neural control of walking. Additional research areas that may have openings pending funding decisions of grants under review include school-based therapy service delivery. Please contact the linked faculty member if you have a specific interest in one of these areas.
For additional information and general questions for both programs may be directed to PTadmissions@drexel.edu.
We look forward to your interest and applications!
