The Department of Kinesiology and Health in the College of Education and Human Development at Georgia State University invites applications for a one-year limited-term Clinical Instructor in Exercise Science to begin on August 14, 2023. The Kinesiology and Health Department serves over 1000 graduate and undergraduate students annually in Exercise Science, Health and Physical Education, and Sports Administration, with a reputation for excellent teaching in a diverse student body. Faculty have a history of external funding from the National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Education, corporations, and various private agencies and organizations, and collaborate with various organizations on and off the university campus. The department supports state-of-the-art research and teaching laboratories in biomechanics, applied physiology, muscle biology, cardiovascular physiology, sports business, and physical education pedagogy.

Qualifications
- Earned M.S. degree in Exercise Science or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution by the start of the position.
- Teaching experience in Exercise Science or related areas (college-level experience preferred)
- ACSM (Exercise Physiologist or equivalent) or NSCA (CSCS) certification
- Commitment to working with diverse students in an urban setting.
- Commitment to developing future exercise science professionals.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses in strength training, fitness assessment, exercise prescription, anatomy and physiology course with associated labs, and other related areas in the Exercise Science Program
- 4-4 teaching load
- Opportunity to teach summer courses may be available on an annual basis.
- Prepare undergraduate students for certification exams.
- Provide service to the department, college, university, and professions.
