  • Postdoc in Biomechanics and Motor Control at East Carolina University

    A new post doc position funded by the Office of Naval Research is available at East Carolina University under the supervision of Dr. Zac Domire and Dr. Nick Murray.
    The postdoctoral scholar is responsible for independent and collaborative development, implementation, and analysis of scientific research in the discipline of biomechanics and motor control. Responsibilities include management of all aspects of examining biomechanical and sensorimotor markers of neural function (brain imaging, balance control, and eye tracking) on military personnel exposed to repetitive loading on fast boats.
    Required Qualifications:
    • PhD in Biomechanics, Motor Control, or a related field
    • Interest and/or experience in biomedical and motor control instrumentation (e.g., motion capture, accelerometers, EEG, eye tracking)
    • Ability to work independently
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills; English Proficiency
    Duties include:
    • Hypothesis development, literature review, collection of pilot data, report writing,
    • Supervising undergraduate and graduate research students
    • Overseeing data collection procedures (including at sites on military bases)
    • Supervising experimental procedures
    • Review of data for quality control, supervision of data entry/data analysis
    • Analysis of research hypothesis using descriptive and multivariate statistics
    • Development of independent and collaborative presentations and publications.
