Texas A&M University Department of Kinesiology and Sport Management (KNSM) invites applications for a full-time tenured position at the full professor level with executive management level experience. In addition to serving as faculty of KNSM, the successful candidate will serve as the Director of the Sydney and JL Huffines Institute for Sports Medicine and Human Performance (Huffines). The Director of Huffines is responsible for the overall strategic and intellectual direction and is expected to seek and secure funding to grow the Institute, allocate financial resources, and oversee its day-to-day operations. The Director is responsible for creating and sustaining productive relationships with leaders/stakeholders, faculty, and practitioners, as well as the community, to ensure initiatives are informed by and address the needs of the Texas A&M System at large. The Director builds and engages in cross-disciplinary collaboration with institutions to facilitate scaling and dissemination of Institute programs in an effort to raise visibility of the Institute and its activities regionally, nationally, and internationally. The Director is successful in identifying and developing philanthropic, public, and constituent support for the Institute. This Director maintains an impactful and internationally recognized basic or applied research program that can include, but is not limited to: nutrition, metabolism, hydration, wearables, cardiorespiratory fitness, concussion, strength & conditioning, sports science, tactical athletics or special populations, injury prevention, recovery, and/or rehabilitation. The Director will also serve as a fully integrated member of the Department of KNSM.
