Qualified candidates are sought for fully funded PhD positions in the laboratory of Professor Yuan Yang in the Department of Bioengineering within The Grainger College of Engineering at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. The Yang laboratory is focused on investigating neural mechanisms underlying movement impairments post-stroke and developing targeted therapeutical interventions to facilitate motor recovery. This interdisciplinary research integrates computational neuroscience approaches and human subject experiments, based on multi-modal brain imaging, non-invasive brain stimulation, electrophysiology signals, robotic devices, and data sciences. His new lab is well funded by NIH, NSF and American Heart Association.
You are welcome to reach out to Professor Yang (yuany@illinois.edu) to learn more about his lab and research/study in UIUC. The formal application should be submitted via https://grad.illinois.edu/admissions/apply. Beginning each September, applications will be accepted for the following fall term.
