    The University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Science, is pleased to announce the availability of multiple post-doctoral positions through the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research, University of Maryland Advanced Neuromotor Rehabilitation Research Training Program, in collaborations with the Bioengineering and Kinesiology Departments, University of Maryland, College Park and the Orthopaedics, Neurology, Geriatric, and Epidemiology Departments, University of Maryland, School of Medicine. The preferred applicant will have a recent doctoral degree in engineering or sciences, with research interest in the following or related areas:
    • Rehabilitation robotics, biomechanics, neuroimaging, sensorimotor characterizations, and/or movement analysis skills related to understanding and improving neuromotor control of patients with neurological disorders, musculoskeletal injuries, or in older adults.
    • Rehabilitation assessment, machine learning, and/or EMG, EEG signal processing skills related to improving neuromotor control and rehabilitation of neurological disorders or musculoskeletal injuries.
    • Biomechanical and/or cognitive-motor skills related to balance control and falls in older adults and patients with neurological disorders.
    • Intervention studies with focus on the interaction of neuromotor, biomechanical and/or behavioral processes.
