  • Post-doctoral opportunity in wearable sensing, machine learning, and precision rehab for knee OA (UNC Chapel Hill)

    The Applied Biomechanics Laboratory (abl.bme.unc.edu) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellow to help lead an newly-funded research project at the interface of wearable sensors, machine learning, and precision rehabilitation for individuals with knee joint osteoarthritis. The successful candidate will contribute to a collaborative team of research partners spanning Biomedical Engineering, Exercise Sciences, and orthopaedics to include scientists, engineers, and surgeons. To support this role, the applicant will have access to an integrative combination of experimental and computational techniques, from quantitative motion analysis and wearable sensors to musculoskeletal simulation and orthopaedic tissue imaging.

    Our laboratory is uniquely positioned in the UNC/NC State Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering (bme.unc.edu), which integrates the exceptional strengths of the UNC Chapel Hill College of Arts & Sciences and School of Medicine and the NC State University College of Engineering. Together, this facilitates meaningful and productive collaborations between scientists, engineers, and clinicians and offers tremendous opportunities for professional development. The Applied Biomechanics Laboratory offers state-of-the-art and dedicated facilities to support the applicants’ research.
