  • PhD positions (2) at Virginia Commonwealth University

    Two fully-funded PhD positions are available for Fall 2024 through the Applied Movement Performance Lab in the Department of Physical Therapy at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).

    Candidates will work on several projects investigating cognitive demand for prosthesis use and optimization of locomotion in persons with lower extremity amputation. Candidates with a background in clinical health sciences (PT, prosthetics, etc.), biomedical engineering, and/or related field in biomechanics or neuroscience are preferred. Clinical experience, and/or prior work in a motion analysis lab or knowledge of musculoskeletal modeling/simulation techniques are desirable but not required. Opportunities will exist to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and academic faculty at VCU, VCU medical center, and Central Virginia Veterans Health Care System.
