Come work with us! The University of Memphis College of Health Sciences is hiring an Assistant Professor of Teaching in Exercise, Sport and Movement Sciences (ESMS).

Description: A teaching load of 5 course sections (15 credit hours) per semester is expected. Courses may include Introduction to ESMS, Resistance and Aerobic Training Applications, Exercise Physiology, Advanced Strength Training and Conditioning, Exercise and Special Populations. Supervision of student interns is expected and would take the place of a portion of the teaching load. Although primarily a teaching position, service to the college, university, and profession is expected.

Qualifications: A minimum of an earned Master’s degree is required in Exercise Science or a related area of study. The ability to teach lower and upper division ESMS undergraduate courses (e.g., Introduction to ESMS, Resistance and Aerobic Training Applications, Exercise Physiology, Advanced Strength Training and Conditioning, Exercise and Special Populations) is required. Current NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist certification is strongly desired or certification in any or all of the following: ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist, ASEP Exercise Physiology Certified, USAW Level 1 or 2 Coach. Effective oral and written communication skills are strongly desired.
