    KinAlign Orthopaedics is a new company that has an opening for a full-time research engineer preferably with an newly awarded MS degree or with a BS degree supplemented by several years of experience. The position generally involves undertaking research and development projects to advance total knee replacement surgery and particularly unrestricted kinematic alignment (KA).

    Areas of research and development activity include:
    • Development of computational and experimental methods for accurately determining biomechanical variables that characterize knee function.
    • Creation and testing of new implant designs experimentally and/or computationally to identify a design optimized for KA.
    • Improvement of surgical techniques to accurately achieve desired implant alignment in KA.
    • Addressing concerns regarding KA such as tibial baseplate stability and outcomes in valgus knees.
    This is a unique opportunity to become involved in cutting-edge and impactful research and development which promises to change the clinical practice paradigm to the benefit of millions of patients worldwide.

    The successful candidate will be involved in a broad spectrum of projects related to the goals above including clinical studies. Therefore, he/she must have excellent command of the English language to recruit and interact with patients, strong organizational skills, and experimental and computational skills particularly programming in MATLAB. This successful candidate should work and communicate well with orthopaedic surgeons. It is also important to possess strong written and verbal communication skills for manuscript submissions and conference presentations.
