The Position:
Applicants are invited to apply for a Ph.D. (Master's considered) position in the BME department of the University of Alberta. The position will provide an exciting and interdisciplinary research opportunity, applying biomechanical simulations to investigate dental applications. The successful applicant will be able to integrate knowledge of finite element analysis and artificial intelligence, and translate this knowledge into practical applications in the field of dentistry. The position is fully-funded, and the student will be a part of the BME department and be co-supervised by professors from the Dentistry and Engineering departments. The target start date will be January 2025.

Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency with programming language (Python/MATLAB).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work independently.
- Interest in computational biomechanics and medical applications.
- Knowledge and experience with finite element analysis (ABAQUS).
- Background in mechanical engineering or biomechanics.
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence with application to medical field.
