At the German Sport University Cologne, a position is available to be filled as soon as possible at the Institute for Biomechanics and Orthopedics.
The position is part-time (75% position) for a limited period of 3 years. This period is considered appropriate for promoting scientific qualifications within German regulations. The position is part of a DFG-funded project entitled: “Locomotion strategies and injury potential in dense pedestrian crowds” (LostInCrowds). This project is being carried out together with the Research Center Juelich, there with the 'Civil Security Research' department in the Institute for Advanced Simulation. The main goal of the project is to investigate individual movement adaptation and the potential for injury in high-density pedestrian flows. For this purpose, experiments will be carried out around bottleneck settings with people of different physical characteristics, varying the density of people and motivation and with the help of motion capturing systems and pressure sensors.
For this post a certain level and, if not a fluent speaker, some enthusiasm to improve on your German is advantageous. Please contact me if unsure.
