  • PhD Positions in Movement Science at Washington University in St Louis

Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis is pleased to invite applications for fully-funded PhD positions in Movement Science. This program, part of our top-ranked Program in Physical Therapy, offers interdisciplinary training for students interested in exploring the complexities of human movement—from its core mechanisms to practical applications in health.

PhD candidates will work alongside faculty with expertise in biomechanics, biomedical engineering, physical therapy, neuroscience, and biostatistics. These students then become part of the next generation of scientists improving human health through movement as they pursue postdoctoral fellowships, academic faculty positions, and careers in industry. To learn more about our research areas, please visit our website.

Qualified candidates interested in a biomechanics focus will have completed an undergraduate degree and potentially a masters degree in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, movement science, or a related area before Fall 2025.

The deadline for applications is December 1, 2024. For program details and application information, visit our PhD in Movement Science page.
