    The School of Kinesiology at LSU seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor. Specifically, we are seeking a faculty member whose scholarly profile aligns with LSU’s goal to expand expertise and funding in the areas of biotechnology, biosensing, and artificial intelligence- core components of the LSU Pentagon plan (https://www.lsu.edu/strategic-framework/index.php). The candidate will be committed to scholarly productivity, grant writing, teaching excellence, and service. The appointment will be effective August 2025.

    Job Responsibilities:
    100%- (1) Develop, or continue, a fundable research program; (2) seek or sustain external funding support for scholarly activities; (3) teach undergraduate courses and/or graduate courses in health promotion; (4) provide advisement to graduate students, and direct dissertations; (5) provide service to the School, College, University, and Profession-based committees as appropriate. Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Ph.D. in Kinesiology or a related field earned before employment.


    Specific Experience:
    The candidate is expected to have strong expertise and a track-record of success (Candidates must provide evidence of scholarly activity demonstrating strong potential for publications in top-tier peer-reviewed journals.) as it relates to the use of biotechnologies, biosensing, and artificial intelligence, such as a) wearable devices (GPS, accelerometry, biosensors, etc.) to objectively measure human health behaviors (e.g., physical activity, sedentary behavior, and/or sleep), and/or b) AI and other cutting-edge technologies to design, deliver, and evaluate mHealth and eHealth interventions.

    Preferred Experience:
    Preference will be given to candidates with post-doctoral experience. Candidates with systematic training in the implementation of science for physical activity and health interventions that involve biotechnologies are encouraged to apply. Candidates who can demonstrate an ability to collaborate within the School of Kinesiology and across campus are strongly encouraged to apply.

    The candidate is expected to have strong expertise and a track-record of success as it relates to the use of biotechnologies, biosensing, and artificial intelligence, such as a) wearable devices (GPS, accelerometry, biosensors, etc.) to objectively measure human health behaviors (e.g., physical activity, sedentary behavior, and/or sleep), and/or b) AI and other cutting-edge technologies to design, deliver, and evaluate mHealth and eHealth interventions. The candidate will actively seek and maintain extramural funding support for their research from NIH, NSF, USDA, and other external sources.
